The Research Center for Ecology and Environmental Sciences (CEES) was established in 2011 and is currently consisting of nine research groups. The center has more than 50 researchers who are committed to carry out vanguard research program on: 1) the structure, function and dynamics of ecosystems (forest, farmland, urban, grassland) in southern China; 2) the response and adaptation of ecosystems to global change; 3) the mechanisms and practices of ecological restoration and ecosystem management, with objectives to provide scientific basis for ecosystem health evaluation, ecological environment governance, and global change mitigation.
