JIANG Yueming Chosen as Vice Director-General of Chinese Society for Plant Physiology
The Tenth Conference of Chinese Society for Plant Physiology (CSPP) was held at Kaifen, Henan province from August 13 to 17, 2009. This conference, whose theme was "Plant Science & Technology", attracted the most majority of elites in the field of plant physiology over the country. More than 600 delegates attended this conference, including members of CSPP, researchers from institutes and universities, and postgraduates. Prof. JIANG Yueming and other 15 persons from SCBG participated in this conference. Dr. Jiang was invited to present a lecture entitled “Review on litchi aging after postharvest” at the plenary session. The doctor student OUYANG Jie gave another presentation entitled "OsPTR2, a putative oligo-peptide transporter, plays a crucial role in seed development and germination" on the group meeting.
Election of the new council for CSPP was an important agenda of this conference. By anonymous voting, Jiang was elected to be one of the 4 new vice directors-general of CSPP and Prof. ZHANG Minyong of SCBG was elected as a member of the council. Moreover, "Honored Members" and "Excellent Members" were praised at the conference. And "Good Papers", "Good Papers for Young Scientists" and "Good Wallpapers" were also evaluated and Chosen. Prof. LIN Zhifang Lin and LIU Hongxian were granted as "honored members". Two academic papers from SCBG were chosen as "good papers". They are "Development and media regulate alternative splicing of a methyltransferase Pre-mRNA in monascus pilosus" written by Prof. Zhang Minyong and "Molecular cloning and function analysis of stay green gene in rice" by Prof. JIANG Huawu.
