Expert from USDA Visits SCBG

From December 13 to 16, Dr. David Wing OW, professor of the Center of Plant Gene Expression, United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), paid a visit to South China Botanical Garden (SCBG) under the invitation of Prof. HUANG Hongwen, the director of SCBG.

During the visit period, Dr. David Wing OW conducted academic exchanges with the research fellows of the SCBG Sustainable Use of Plant and Gene Resource Field. He also discussed with the postgraduate students about eastern and western cultures. He presented an excellent lecture titled “Overview of research: recombination, gossypol, and stress tolerance”, which was highly appraised by the audience.

Prof. David Wing OW, majoring in cell developmental biology, gained his Ph.D. from Harvard University years ago. Now he holds a position in Plant Gene Expression Center, USDA. His many research papers have been published in the international famous journals, such as Nature, and Science.
